HIMSS Medical Banking Project helps financial institutions and health care organizations to form sustainable partnerships that improve health systems. We facilitate the advancement of a global healthcare financial network using an industry leading, neutral educational platform. We target reduced paper in payment channels (via "green technology"), real time payment processing, health-wealth programs that include consumer-driven healthcare, linking online banking to health portals for consumer convenience, mobile health and other areas. Privacy and security of health data is central to our effort (see Gold Seal). Our educational centerpiece is the National Medical Banking Institute. We have an active volunteer committee - HIMSS Medical Banking and Financial Systems Committee - that provides leadership, oversees a robust educational program and supports industry action.
