2009 Persons of the YearAwarded at the 7th National Medical Banking Institute in Nashville, TN March 13 , 2009
Evelyn Casillas (1958-2008) was honored at the 7th National Medical Banking Institute as the "Co-creator of The Medical Banking Project" and 2009 Person of the Year. Her tireless efforts in 2001 drove the emergence of a small firm to national prominence. Evelyn often filled in with studio work as a news reporter during the HIPAA Gang Podcasts. She was a powerful singer with many engagements in the Nashville music community. Evelyn was the sister of the founder of the Medical Banking Project. Prior to MBProject she worked in various administrative capacities including assistant to the president of Johnson & Johnson in Puerto Rico, Operations Manager for Realistic Cash Flow Management, paralegal for Power Bowen and Valemont in Doylestown, PA and other assignments. She is remembered most for her jovial spirit and infectious enthusiasm, the way she cared for her family and friends and her meticulous attention to detail as Operations Manager at MBProject. Kenneth J. Kubala is the Workgroup Leader of Accreditation Review Council. As a senior New Business Development manager for the New Business Development group at The Bank of New York Mellon, Mr. Kubala is responsible for analyzing, managing, developing and implementing new, technologically complex businesses, products and services. As one of the architects of Treasury Services’ new business/product development process that is based on Stage-Gatetm he is responsible for integrating the process into the organization, internal marketing and training, idea generation, idea assessment, and product/business development. In addition to focusing on the management of several new high-growth opportunities, he has devoted significant effort over the past three years contributing to the development and execution of a healthcare revenue cycle services strategy for the Treasury Services line of business. Mr. Kubala has been with the organization since 1995.
Mr. Kubala has over 25 years of experience in building and implementing new products and services, primarily as a project manager and systems designer. Prior to joining The Bank of New York Mellon, he held various information systems positions in the finance, manufacturing and consulting services industries. Most recently, he was a consultant with IBM. He received his certification as a New Product Development Professional in January 2004 from the Product Development & Management Association, the leading international professional association for individuals involved in the practice and study of new product development. Mr. Kubala received his bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. |
